Two hundred fifty nine cases of clinically diagnosed ovarian neoplasm were subjected to fine aspiration cytology. The specificity, sensitivity and the predictive value were 94.2%, 91.4% and 80% respectively. Thus the value of FNAC on suspected cases of ovarian neoplasms have been proved, though the gynecologists are sceptic in this respect. The reasons for the false diagnosis has been analysed.
